Serious community for serious brands in APAC

Community Terms

Version 2026-06-25. By joining GemCommunity you agree to the commitments below. The version and date of your acceptance are recorded.

Welcome to GemCommunity. We work hard to keep this a high-trust space for serious ecommerce founders and operators, so we ask every member for a few clear commitments. Please take a moment to read them — they protect you just as much as everyone else.

1. Membership & community spirit

GemCommunity is a vetted, application-based community, and membership is a privilege rather than a right. It is granted on the understanding that you join to learn, contribute, and help your peers grow — not simply to extract value or to sell. We ask every member to take part in good faith and to treat the group as a shared resource worth protecting.

2. Respect & genuine contribution

Please engage constructively and assume good intent. Share real results, honest numbers, and lived experience rather than self-promotion. Healthy disagreement is welcome; personal attacks, harassment, discrimination, and bad-faith argument are not. What is shared in private rooms and direct messages stays within the community — please do not screenshot, forward, or repost another member’s content without their consent.

3. No soliciting or cold-pitching

Please do not send unsolicited messages to pitch, sell services, recruit, or lure members onto other platforms or into paid offerings. Any proactive outreach must be welcome — if someone has not invited a sales conversation, please do not start one. This is the single most important rule for keeping the community safe, and we enforce it strictly.

4. Agencies, freelancers & service providers

Members who provide services are genuinely welcome, but must operate through approved channels only. Please present what you offer in the designated “Offers” space, lead with real value (give-first), and let interested members come to you. Private outreach to pitch services into the member space is not permitted, however it is framed.

5. Communication & privacy

Please keep contact within the platform so our safeguards — message requests, blocking, and reporting — can protect everyone. Do not collect, store, or share other members’ emails, phone numbers, or messaging handles, and do not export or scrape the member directory. Treat fellow members’ personal information with the same care you would want for your own.

6. No spam, advertising or mass messaging

Please do not post advertising or self-promotion outside permitted areas, and do not send the same or a similar message to many members. Automated, bulk, or repetitive outreach will be blocked and treated as a violation.

7. Staying active

This is a living community that depends on participation. A member with no activity of any kind — logging in, reading, learning, or interacting — for three (3) consecutive months may have their membership removed, so that space stays open for engaged members. Removal for inactivity is not a penalty: you are warmly welcome to re-apply whenever you are ready to take part again.

8. Enforcement & consequences

We would always rather coach than punish, so minor issues usually begin with a friendly reminder. Depending on severity, however, violations may lead to reduced messaging permissions, a temporary suspension, or permanent removal. Repeated reports or a pattern of harmful behaviour will result in escalating action, and serious breaches — particularly soliciting, harassment, or privacy violations — may lead to an immediate ban without prior warning. Moderation decisions are made in good faith and are final.

9. Updates to these terms

We may refine these terms as the community grows. We will communicate any material changes, and continued membership after an update means you accept the revised version. The version you agreed to when joining is stored together with the date of your acceptance.

Thank you for helping keep GemCommunity a place worth being part of. If anything here is unclear, or you would like to raise a concern, please reach out to the moderation team — we are always glad to help.
